Skin, Sun, and Health - A Complex Relationship!

We all love to luxuriate on the beach in the hot sun. Turquoise water, white sand, bright sun and a delicious cocktail - does not it look like Paradise? A magnificent suntan is a bonus to paradise relaxation. After all, bronze skin is the standard of beauty.

But it was not always so. Even some 100 years ago the snow-white skin was appreciated, and the ladies hid from the sun in every possible way. Sunburn came into fashion relatively recently, in contrast to youth, which has always been the trend number one throughout the history of mankind.

In the 21st century, a young, healthy and tanned body is beautiful and sexy - fashion dictates. And medicine claims that these qualities are incompatible: youth, health, and sunburn.

It has long been no secret that our skin not only acquires a golden hue, but also coarsens, thickens, dehydrates, and becomes rough under the influence of UV-rays. The result is premature aging of the skin. The name of this process is photoaging. The sun's rays slow the processes of formation of elastin and collagen in the skin, which leads to skin flabbiness and the formation of deep wrinkles. Pigment and senile spots, enlarged pores, a red mesh of burst blood vessels, wilting, various lumps and knolls, acne and pimples - a payoff for a beautiful suntan. But that is not all! UV-radiation destroys immune cells and damages the genetic information of the cell nuclei, which often leads to skin cancer.

But, as we know, there are no desperate situations in life. Prevention of harmful sun exposure - regular use of sunscreen! And not only on the beach but constantly and daily even in the city. Modern Cosmetology provides a wide range of sunscreen products for face and body. And the medicine gives recommendations for safe sun exposure.

So, a few rules that will help you in the fight against photoaging:

  • Daytime and foundation creams have sunscreen factors for a long time range of SPF 8-25. Just put them on the whole face, not limited to the nose and chin. Sites at the roots of the hair and on the temples are dangerous zones of damage in the early stages of cancer development
  • Treat your skin with products containing powerful antioxidants (retinol or red grape extract) in the evening
  • Overheating of the body leads to an acceleration of the process of photoaging. Therefore, limit the time spent in the sun from 8 to 11 (maximum) in the morning and from 4 to 7 in the evening. The sun is more sparing at this time.
  • Daily moisturize your skin and drink up to 2.5 liters of water to avoid dehydration
  • Vitamins A, C, E, and B3 - weapons against photoaging. And it does not matter how they get into the skin - in the cream or through a pill
  • Apply sunscreen daily on all exposed skin areas. And it does not matter, you go to work (20-30 minutes) or relax on the beach. The cream is always needed! Apply it 40-60 minutes before the exit to the sun. Renew the cream every 2 hours if you bathe. And remember that SPF-cream should protect from UVA-rays too

If you already observe the effects of photoaging on your skin, then do not be in a hurry to get upset! Cosmetology and medicine have methods for eliminating such consequences in their arsenal: biorevitalization, mesotherapy, photo- and laser rejuvenation. Peelings (in the not active sun season) in specialized salons and at home are also effective

The use of cosmetics with retinol or retinoic acid leads to good results in the fight against aging of the skin (both chronological and photoaging)

Now you are informed and can enjoy the sun without negative consequences. And "Beauty Plus" wishes you many enchanting sunny days!
